Flat Abs Workouts

When I first started out in the fitness industry, it didn’t take me long to realize that getting flat abs was one of the biggest goals around the gym.

In fact, it’s hard to find a beginner, a seasoned weight lifter, or a professional bodybuilder who isn’t working on their abs. Let’s face it, we live in a society that idealizes a washboard stomach.

But it isn’t always easy. The second thing I learned when I started out was just how hard flat abs can be, especially when you don’t have a good plan.

Fitness success of any kind always comes down to the plan – and that’s why I’m here. I’m not only going to give you abs workouts but a 3 step plan so you save the frustration of doing thousands of sit-ups without results, ready for it?

Let’s go….

3 Steps to Getting Flat Abs

If you’re trying to get flat abs but keep feeling stuck, here are the 3 main steps you need to reach success:

1. Eat for Flat Abs!

Diet is always the first step to flat abs success, but this is often overlooked by beginners and advanced lifters alike. It’s absolutely critical that you adopt a diet that is low in fat (and I mean VERY low in fat), low in sugar (especially refined sugars and simple carbs), relatively low in carbohydrates, and high in protein and fiber.

The problem is that most of us carry at least some of our weight around our waistline. And any little bit of extra fat in this area is going to make it impossible to see your abdominal muscles, even if you’re working them hard. So on top of these dietary restrictions, I also suggest cutting back on sodium (which is going to make you retain water) and removing any junk food and fast food, as it’s normally high in the bad stuff.

2. Boost your Metabolism for Flat Abs!

Next, you need to eat the right metabolism-boosting foods and take the right supplements to support flat abs. No matter your other fitness goals, the best thing you can do is eat foods that get you burning extra calories and fat, above and beyond the effects of a healthy, balanced diet.
